Liverpool recently announced the signing of Slovenian defender Sara Agrez on a free from Koln. This transfer has made little to no noise amongst the footballing world (as we're used to by now, we don't get media coverage) but I believe Agrez could become one of the signings of the summer.
Sara Agrez can, pretty reliably, play across the entire defensive line but specialises on the left hand side. This season for Koln she has enjoyed playing as a left sided centre back, be that in a back three or a back four, but has previously played at left back, mainly during her time at Wolfsburg where she played back up to Felicitas Rauch.

It may be suggested that Agrez is being brought in to allow Fisk to move to right centre back, as Gareth Taylor has hinted at many times, with Jenna Clark dropping to the bench and having Bernabe at left back. I do not believe this to be the case. I think that Sara Agrez will be lining up at left back, with Clark and Fisk still in the starting lineup together at centre back.
This season in possession, Taylor enjoyed telling Shimizu to drop in to the back line and create a back three almost, allowing Bernabe attacking freedom, Shimizu was playing as an auxiliary centre back. This becomes evident when checking two things, Risa's position on average position maps and Grace Fisk's heat map in those same games. Fisk often spent a lot of time defending the left channel, because she was pushed out there in this temporary back three during to her being a better wide defender than Jenna Clark, who is a much better option remaining in the middle of the pitch.

So how does this tie in to Agrez and especially how does it tie in to Bergstrom, who is also mentioned in the title? I believe that the signing of Sara Agrez will lead to us seeing the best version of Alice Bergstrom imaginable and that Taylor is likely to opt for a back four of Agrez-Clark-Fisk-Bergstrom. in possession Bergstrom will push up high and wide, like we saw Bernabe do in this system this season, with Agrez coming inside and creating a rudimentary back three, allowing for better line breaking passing angles and a superior rest defence. Not only would this allow for Fisk to play as the right hand centre back, as Taylor mentions a lot in his press conference remember, but it would allow Bergstrom to be herself.
We really haven't seen much of Bergstrom in a Liverpool shirt yet. She got off to a hot start in January after signing, but after picking up an injury away to Chelsea she struggled to reestablish herself as a presence in the team. She started at right back twice, once against Charlton in the FA Cup and against Arsenal on the final day of the WSL season, both times she struggled defensively and was often caught in transition. That was clearly not the plan for an attacking right back. Managers are aware what they're getting themselves in for when they sign an offensive fullback and for a manager as meticulous as Taylor, leaving his team so overexposed at the back mustn't be the plan, there is something we're not seeing. That something, is Sara Agrez.

I fully agree with this. We've struggled a lot especially down the right hand side because of Risa's deficiency in 1v1 defending and Clark struggling with channel defending as well. Agrez at left back with Fisk shifted to RCB and Clark to LCB, maximizes everyone's strength. It allows for Bergstrom to be an proper attacking full back, while utilizing her pace to get back against third man runs while Fisk defends the channel, something she's excellent at. It also allows like you say for Agrez to invert opening space on that side to play line breaking passes through to Holland or in behind to Olsson or Csillag. I think we still need a proper 6 to full balance out the system but the use of Agrez in that left back position goes a long way in addressing a massive weakness in our defence.

Our fullbacks are liability defensively.
I agree the signing of Sara will help us to tactically evolve next season. She can help us to adapt a 3 at the back in possession when we start Alice at Rightback. It will give Alice freedom to roam forward and overlap or underlap on our right wing. It will also benefit Endeeman on the Right wing. She won't be isolated in the forward area instead she will be able to form combination play with Alice on the right.
We need a similar profile like Sara at Rightback to. Someone with the physicality and height to form a 3 woman defence at the back whenever Bernabe plays on the left. Shimizu struggled in that role defensively last season. She lacks the height, physicality and pace. It was evident against City and Brighton in FA semi final when Haley bullied her at the back post to score the equalizer.
Silcock might be an option but not sure if Taylor fully trust her. She is still inexperience. Hana Takahashi of Japan who plays for Urawa Reds is a player I recommend. She is a similar profile to Agrez and I was impressed with her in the Asia games tournament.
In addition Sara is very good in taking setpiece, we don't have to depend on Holland alone for setpiece delivery.
